BREAKING NEWS: Jumala Economy Test

You know that in your Jumala account you can find out how much Spark you have. And you’ve probably noticed there is something called Jumas that is greyed out. Being clever you’ve also probably intuited that Jumas will most likely be a cash equivalent for future Jumala commerce.

The time has come to test it. For now it’s just play money—we’re not going to ask for your credit card or anything like that. But we are going to run some tests to figure out if the system works, how people use it, and what the pricing should be like. And we need your help!

Here’s how it will work:

On the morning of Monday, February 13th we will wipe/remove the Spark in all accounts along with objects sitting around in your inventory. We won’t touch the games though, so if you want to save your stuff, stick it in a game! The reason we’re removing the Spark and inventory is so that we can see how the economy behaves. We need to look at how people spend their Spark and Jumas. Most items will be available to purchase with Spark or Jumas and some items will be Jumas-exclusive—just like in a lot of games you may play. We would like you to spend the Spark first before moving onto the Jumas.

At the beginning of the test everyone with a Jumala account will begin with 500 Spark and 1,000 Jumas. You will be able to earn Spark as you currently do.

This test is expected to last about two weeks. At the end of the first testing period, we may decide to re-set Spark, re-set Jumas, re-set both or neither.  Any items that you purchased during the test will probably get wiped out of your inventory for the next test, so smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em! (aka “put them in a space before you lose them”).

We need you to bash on the economy system so we can see how it—and the community—behaves. So please, spend your Spark and Jumas like mad. Pretend you’re in Vegas with Donald Trump’s credit card. The more you spend the more we’ll learn from the test and there’s nothing to be gained from hoarding.

We value your input and welcome all feedback and questions. Please post questions and comments in the Jumala forums or email us at community@jumala.com
